Explore the East Texas Pineywoods, wandering through our cathedral of trees – pines, oaks, dogwoods and more. Enjoy the Rustling Leaves Trail, a 2.4-mile easy hike around the lake. Work a little harder on the .8-mile Mountain View Trail, which takes you to the highest point in the park.
Learn more on our Trails Information page.
Contact us to ask about our all-terrain wheelchair, available for your use in the park.
Boating and paddling
Rent a boat or bring your own. We allow motors, but the lake has a 5-m.p.h. speed limit.
We rent paddle boats, paddle boards, canoes, kayaks (single and tandem) and flat-bottom boats. Life jackets and paddles are included. Rentals are available year-round at the park store.
Read about staying safe in the water before your visit.
Fishing
Fish for crappie, bass, catfish, sunfish or chain pickerel. Bring your own bait or purchase worms at our park store.
The park has a fishing pier and boat ramp. Check out the Texas Fish Habitat Structures map to find structures in our lake (search for Daingerfield).
You do not need a license to fish from shore or boat in the park. Check regulations before fishing.
A state fishing license is usually required.
