Once designated parking has reached capacity, additional visitors will be turned away at the gate. Gate closures will be conducted as a series of rolling closures throughout the day and will occur based upon observed visitor numbers. To enhance visitor and staff safety, pedestrians are not permitted to park and walk into the park via Viaduct Road during these closures. Individuals wishing to enter the park via the MJ2KB section of the Knox and Kane rail trail are asked to utilize trailheads outside of the park and bike in rather than using the park as a trailhead. Visitors are advised to plan ahead for these closures and to preemptively plan to visit some of the additional attractions that the area has to offer. To avoid these interruptions to your visit, please consider visiting during the week if possible.

|---|---|---|---|
| General Kane Trail | 1.15 mi | Easiest | Recreations permitted: hiking, snowshoeing recommended Trailhead amenities: picnic tables This loop trail is named in honor of the visionary behind the Kinzua Bridge -- General Thomas Leiper Kane. | Kinzua Creek Trail | 0.8 mi | More difficult | Recreations permitted: hiking Trailhead amenities: modern restrooms, potable water, benches This challenging trail to the bottom of the Kinzua Gorge is short, but very steep with stone steps used in the steeper areas. Hiking Safety Guidelines
- Always wear sturdy boots. Wearing sneakers, sandals, “water shoes,” and “street shoes” can lead to serious accidents.
- Give yourself plenty of time for your hike. Plan to be off the trails well before dark.
- Let someone know where you are hiking and when you should return.
- Stay on the trails. Leaving the trail causes damage to unique natural resources, promotes erosion, and can be dangerous.
- Don’t take shortcuts from one trail section to another. Taking shortcuts down switchbacks is dangerous and causes trail damage.
