This park is within the Marion County permanent quarantine zone for all ash, olive, and white fringe tree materials. These tree materials, including firewood, must stay within the county where they were collected to help slow the spread of the emerald ash borer, a highly invasive insect, sighted in this county. Help protect our forests by following these firewood tips: • Buy firewood local to your campsite: Choose firewood harvested within 10 miles of your destination or buy certified heat-treated firewood. • Avoid transporting restricted wood: Do not bring ash, olive, or white fringe tree materials into any Oregon State Park even if it’s within the same quarantine area. When in doubt about the tree species, leave it out. Learn more about the quarantine and emerald ash borer.

Can I leave my car at Champoeg while I take an overnight bike trip on the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway?
Yes. You will need to check in with a ranger at the campground booth prior to leaving your car in the 'B' Loop overflow parking lot. You will need to purchase a day pass for every day you will be parked here or have an annual pass for your car.
Are kiddie pools allowed in campsites?
We do not allow kiddie pools in the park to help conserve water and protect campsites from damage. Standing water can also pose safety risks, especially when left unattended.

Swimming
Is there river/swimming access within the park?
The only river access within the park is at the boat dock. Because of the strong current and unseen underwater hazards, swimming is prohibited from the dock. Our soft surface Townsite walking trail and the eastern half of our paved biking trail that leads to the Butteville Store both provide views of the river, but no designated swimming areas as the river banks are dangerously steep.
